African butterfly fish tank mates

I want know if they will OK with a shoal of African banned barbs or one lined tetras ?

I believe African Butterflies like having same specie friends.

With african butterflies you'll have to be careful not to get any "fin nipping fish", or any other surface fish, especially those that will fit in its mouth. They love floating plants though.

Speaking of their mouth, it's huge. Probably the largest mouth on a fish its size. Their mouths open like the cargo door of those huge military carrier planes. My butterflies can eat large crickets without too much trouble.

Also, with only 3 feet of surface water length, they can jump 6 feet. Be sure you have a good lid.
