Any idea of why my female guppy is attacking my male guppy almost constantly? They have had babies together already and have been in the tank together for about a month. Just in the last couple of weeks she has begun chasing him all over the top of the tank. He's got some tail damage already but seems to be holding up alright. Anyone had this problem before.
Do I have to get rid of her and try another?

well,if she is pregnant or if she has her babies in the same tank maybe she is trying to protect them.
just a thought
maybe u should separate them
Another thing is maybe the male is getting in to her territory.
hope that helps any :)

Aggressive Female

Hi. I'd like to say that there is a reason why this takes place. No one knows why. It can be a continuos problem, an intermittent one - or a rare occurence. Just be sure that there is cover for the male to seek refuge in. Oftentimes the problem will subside - sometimes it will pester the fish to death. Such is the life of a guppy. Sorry I could not be of more help. - Frank/Guppyman
