i just setup my first 29 gallon tank. Today i began to cycle it. after a few hours i saw a lot of air bubbles everywhere. Is this normal?

Should be normal and nothing to worry about. What you are seeing is just the result of gases in the water coming out of suspension and also the bubbles stirred up by the water being added to the tank.

Mostly with new tanks. I think that established tanks develope a thin, transparent coat of tank slime that inhibits bubbles sticking to it. I never get bubbles sticking to the glass or decorations after a water change, which transiently injects a lot of bubbles into the tank. The bubbles are gone in less than a minute. But a new tank? fill it up and there are little bubbles everywhere, sometimes for a few days.

The bubbles stick to my plants now during water changes. But the rest of the tank is bubble free.
