air pumps needed?

I have 2 topfin air pumps that are so noisy..do I really need them? I have 2 filters on both my 55g & 29g.
55g running aqueon 55/75 & marineland biowheel 350

29g running aqueon 30 & aqueon 20.
im getting tired of the consant loud hum

IMO nope! Unless you see your fish gasping for breath IMO they are not needed. I find them incredibly annoying too.

My tip is to hang the up ! Mine runs silent while hanging

Also you could just have one and get a tube splitter

I think with the filtration I have there is enough movement. I put towels under them and it seemed to help. also on a different note.

is this a good idea ?? I put some fluval foam pieces in my 350 bio wheel

No, if you have something besides air driven filtration you don't need them, they are just for aesthetics.

okay ill probably turn them off tonight or tomorrow..its hard not to have em on..lol
