What kind of algae you want to fight ? It's all about nutrient control. Adding algae eater or snails only "patch" the problem without solve the source.

Sounds like diatoms. It is very common in new tanks and will eventually run out of it's nutrient source and go away. Make sure your light is not left on too long also. If you have live plants try 6 hours a day max. If you don't have live plants just keep the light off unless you are viewing the tank, the fish don't need the light.
Be aware that plecos and snails produce a lot of waste and will add a significant amount to the bioload of your tank. A single nerite probably wouldn't hurt though, they like to eat diatoms.
