Algae eater for pond

Since it is starting to warm up outside I'm thinking about getting some type of algae eater for my ponds in the backyard.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've heard you can use plecos, but they have to be taken in in the winter so they don't die. Other then that I haven't heard of any other type of fish to go in there.

The ponds are small. One is about 4x3x2 lxwxd in ground that only has two white clouds from last year (they are much bigger than the ones in my tank in side) and I have another that is about 3 ft deep in the shape of a circle about 3.5 ft in diameter.
