I have a well-established 20 gallon tank with 1 gourami, 4 platies, and 5 zebra danios. I'm looking to get an algae eater to help out with the algae growth. Any suggestions?

Bristlenose pleco or maybe some snails :)

I thought snails were more of nuisance/pest/infestation. Would you intentionally buy snails?

Nerites are,nt known to breed in freshwater I have some in my 50gallon & they,re really hard workers clean up algae really quickly & not much off a bio load.

I would try a couple I have 4 in mine & they,re great little guys no problems with breeding been in their for a year.

Yes they should, I'm in scotland we have them in all our fish stores & I,ve even bought some of e bay. Hope you find them
