Algae of some sort

I have had these brown spots all over my aquarium for almost 2 weeks. I think it could possibly be diatoms but everything I have read says it goes away within a week. Any ideas on what it is?

Do you have any suggestions on how to get rid of it? I have two algae eaters in there currently but they seem to be overwhelmed by the mass amount of the algae. It has been very prolonged from anything I've read online.

Should just go away on it's own..

I had something similar in my tank. I just started adding Flourish Excel every other day and it cleared up quickly
