Am I feeding my fish enough?

I have three gold fish in a 50 gallon. I feed them once a day almost always at night. But when I watch them various times throughout the day they appear to trying eat stuff off plants and decor. They will also even dig at the rocks and put the rocks in their mouths and spit them back out. They just seem to spend all day trying to eat. Any advice is appreciated.

I wouldn't overfeed. A hungry fish is a healthy fish.

No matter how much you feed a fish, they will always try to eat more. They are simply trying to find more food, even if they don't need it.
