Hey everyone. I am using ammo-carb along with filter floss in my hob filter. Is it a good media? Cause I've heard that carbon shouldn't be used. Would this help my tank?

I never use any stuff except Purgen if I want any chemical filtration. Carbon is good for removing meds, smells, or tannins in the water but IMO nothing much is really needed. My best media choice is plain ole 100% Polyfill which you can get a big bag of it at Walmart or a craft store for about $7. And it lasts a long time.
