Ammo down, Nitrites up?

Okay Finally after months my Ammo is at O, but now the Nitrites have spiked up? Is this a natural process, will the nitrites(5.0) go down as well?
What should I do?

yea its the next stage. Ammonia - nitrite - nitrate. It'll eventually go down. Then your cycle will be complete. Just keep at it.

nearly 3 months..and lots of water changes..

Btw, are you cycling fishless or with fish? When fishless, some opt to not do any water changes till the tank is fully cycled.
