Ammonia Alert by Seachem, Anybody tried it?

Has anybody used Ammonia Alert by Seachem? Is it effective? Does it last 1 year? Do you recommend it over a normal drip test?

Those warning card things? They're inherintly inaccurate from what I've read.

i have one. i still test my water after i add fish to ensure that there isnt a spike and that it is working properly.
you can test them by holding it over a bottle of ammonia, the fumes will send it off the charts.

I wouldn't mess with them. Once your tank is cycled you shouldn't have to test for ammonia unless you add new fish or your fish act weird.
