Just wondering what is truly the best way to remove ammonia and nitrate from aquariums

Daily water changes aren't necessary unless you have an obscenely large bioload. Most people go for ~50% a week. In a cycled tank you shouldn't be having ammonia problems, so if it's showing up on your tests, there may be a bigger issue that needs to be addressed. Nitrates ideally should be kept under 40 ppm.

No it's well cycled the ammonia is only slightly elevated

What's the tank size and stock? How long has it been running? Planted?

Possible ammonia in tap water?

150 Lt 1 Angel 2 dwarf gourami's 2 mollies 1 Platy 8 neon tetras 2 danios and 1 brislenose catfish and non planted
