More info is needed...
Did you check the expiration date?
Are you positive you didn't grab a different reagent bottle by mistake?
What are you doing with this tank (established, cycling, fishless cycle, etc.)?
Any chance your test tube was dirty/otherwise contaminated?

I am for sure it was ammonia, I did it twice. This tank is cycling. I don't see an expiration date. And this was taken 5 minutes after doing the test, but it was that color after only 2 or 3. But I think it may be expired, my nitrate test had a pink tint to it. But everything was normal just a week ago. :hide:

I have to second Jeta's statement- I have only seen this when ammonia is very, very high. Is this a fishless or fish-in cycle?

Any chance of OD'ing on the ammonia or maybe someone thought they were helping out & added some & you didnt know? I would do a 100%wc since this is fishless, wait 1/2hr & retest.

Well my brother might have added some... its about 1 ppm when I simulated a 75% change so yea someone has done something. Grr.
