I have a 9 month old angelfish, body is about 3-4" tall, master of my 56 gallon column.

Said tank needs some major work -- the vals have put up runners everywhere and I'd like to redo the hard scaping ... The angel loves this cave under some driftwood but he's gotten too tall, so I'd like to silicone the driftwood with some rocks to raise the roof on his niche.

And I'd probably swap stands at the same time ... Etc etc.

I have an empty planted 10 gallon, filter heater etc, same water parameters. Could he do ok there for a few days while I remodel the big house?

Should be fine for a few days. Just keep a close eye on the water parameters.

I've got one in a 6gal under-going treatment for bacterial infection around the mouth. The tank was cycled but not for a fish that big.

Surprisingly the tank ammonia is barely reading and the angelfish is coping with the reduced space fairly sedately.

Thanks!

I'm such a chicken about netting fish we shall see if it really happens ... :)
