Anyone have any recommendations for a substitute for Angelfish in a 55 gallon community tank? I was thinking or 4-5 Angelfish originally, but I've kept them before and was think about something different. I'm okay with a single larger fish or multiple fish about the same size.

How about pearl gourami? Look them up on utube. They are elegant and peaceful, but they don't like faster moving fish like rainbows...it just depends on what you like. I had 4 females and one male in my 55 and they hang around together most of the time.

Nothing yet. I'm setting it up after a long hiatus.

Was thinking a dozen or so Harlequin rasboras and 8 kuhli loaches on the bottom. A slow cruiser would be cool.

Based on this stocking plan, I'm with the person that suggested pearl gourami's. Beautiful and peaceful fish to my understanding. Might get some myself soon!

Keyhole cichlids would be pretty cool.

Always wanted these fish! My 29 gallon tank is a little too small though lol.

These or pearl gourami's would be great with your idea of rasbora's and kuhli's

I have one in my 30, and my brother has two in a 55, they didn't get very big tbh.
