Any special concerns with water changes & pregnancy?

The only dumb question is the unasked one, right?

I just want to be sure that I don't need to take any extra precautions with my aquarium (water changes in particular) while pregnant. I wash my hands thouroughly afterward.

Thanks.

Oh congratulations!!!!!! I never took any extra precautions with my fish tank while I was pregnant. I would just say try to avoid any chemicals or medicines which I do all the time anyway.

maybe invest in those gloves they have that go all the way up your arm, just as an extra precaution.

Aquariums are like jello - there's always room for more.

No, nothing that can specifically threaten you or the fetus, although paying extra attention to hygeine whilst pregnant is always a good idea.

Thanks, I just wanted to be sure there weren't additional concerns like with a cat litter box.

I would definitely go with some gloves! There are still a lot of bacteria etc. in the tank that are not "normal" for the human body. If you have a cut in your finger for example it might get infected quite quickly.

Take some gloves and all should be fine !
