Awhile back, I was able to pick up a single male and two female scarlet badis. When I saw the store had females, I snatched them up, since they're so hard to come by.

They're in a planted, 5 gallon with some ghost shrimp, they feed on the shrimplets, which is an nice easy source of live food for them.

Since females are so rare, I was hoping to breed mine. Has anyone had success breeding them?

I know one guy who had some limited success, but the fish did it more or less on their own. A very heavily planted tank and few other fishes in it. I think there's a good article on 'seriouslyfish' about them, but it's been awhile since I read it. I have a pair of females too and have been trying to find a male for them before they are too old. Charming little fish.
