Is that the name brand or the description of the product? Sounds like a description of filter media to me.

It is a media pack that will work in a whisper hang mounted filter.... This product is also used in outside pond filter systems in a much larger scale...

Gotcha...

That's a cool picture from the pond...really established.

I use this type of media in my two canister filters (not this brand, but the same ceramic rings) and they seem to be fine for establishing bacteria. I've never heard of using them on a HOB filter like a whisper but I suppose you could in a media bag (like is shown in your pic). Don't use Whisper as my HOBs, but if it uses a bio wheel, the wheel should be sufficient without this product. I'd focus on more mechanical media in that case.

I have some in my emperors. Well the same thing not the same brand I am pleased with it.
