I have a 65 gallon tank with African cichlids and live plants. And crush coral. I just bought a reef master test kit (got it cheap, so I thought I could test for carbonate hardness and calcium and phosphate). So what level should I aim for?

Ca is immaterial for a FW tank. PO4 should be around .03-.05 for a planted tank, and KH is also not all that important for a FW tank. Most fw fish can survive in a wide range of KH readings.
