are rubber bands ans brass screws toxic

had to do some quick shade tree repairs; anyone know if any toxins will come off rubber bands and brass screws?

Rubber bands will show signs of wear, and need replacement. Fishing line or thread work for securing things within the aquarium

I don't know about screws

Brass has copper and is toxic to critters sensitive to it, such as snails.
