Baby Betta

Currently in my 7 gallon I have 14 Platy fry that are around 1 cm now. I plan on getting a Betta after I get rid of the fry. The big box store near me has baby bettas that are around the same size. I'm wondering if I got one and put it in with the fry would the fry out compete the Betts for food?
