I know this series is one of the most highly recommended books ever for aquarists. Several people have told me they are a must have. I would get one but the only thing is... I have an extremely low budget :ermm: and there are other things I can buy that would benefit my tank. So my question is, is there really a whole lot of info in the books that I won't be able to find online?

With the amount of varying and contradictory information on the web, I hafta say yes simply as a confirmation source when different websites give different advice or inconsistent data. When yer not sure, refer to the books. Not necessarily the entire series immediately, but at least Volume 1. Then add as your budget allows. The series has been my fall back since I got Volume 1 back in my college days in the late 80's.
