Benificial Bacteia Question

So bought some of that white foam stuff to put into my bio wheel behind the main filter so that when I got another tank I would be able to put the established foam into it. In around 1 1/2 weeks the foam turned yellowish would that be the beneficial bacteria or just dirty water? It was behind the main cartridge in my penguin 150.

Probably just picked up a bunch of debris. Im sure that there is some bacteria on it now but try to give it at least 3 weeks if you are able to.

Ya there is 2 pieces and I don't have everything for the other tank yet. But i was list wondering if the color was bb or just gunk . Should my bio wheel feel slimy if it has BB on it it? When I got it it was gray I thought they were supposed to be white so you could see them change color.
