I have a standard 55g running a fluval 406. Currently it's positioned with the out flow in the back corner aimed at a roughly 45 degree angle towards the front-center. This creates a swirling action throughout the tank. Because of this nice swirl, I placed the intake for the filter below the out put.

Now my question. I am building a custom stand/lid for my new 5 foot long 100g and before I drill any holes in the lid, I'm wondering if you think I can expect the same swirl to make the rounds in this longer tank, or if there is a better spot (like on the opposite end) for the intake.

Thanks as always!!
