www.bigalsonline.com and www.drsfostersmith.com are more-or-less neck and neck on prices, though Big Al's usually wins out by a thin margin.

I seldom recommend buying from major fish-stocking sites (liveaquaria.com is a subsidiary or division of drsfostersmith.com), as they're usually very pricey. For some of the best deals, I usually recommend www.aquabid.com. You can get some fantastic deals on hard-to-find plants and fish on the site.

I got everything pretty much from Bi-Gals. :p Best prices I've seen. But the autofeeder I want is a bit more expensive there than some other places. That's about my only gripe.

I just got a shipment from That Fish Place. Everything was there and fine and the shipping wasn't too much. I ordered it on sunday and it arrived on tuesday, but I live PA :D

on equipment it's www.thatfishplace.com all the way for me... or of course a good bizrate search, depends on what your buying.
i shop around, and i havent found a catch-all store yet

It pays to shop around. I found out that the Petco web store is much cheaper. Plus you get 20% off on your first on line order. I just bought 2 Marineland 330 filters for 24.99 each. The same unit at their store is $40 for one. If you need to buy alot or an expensive item, chech them out for the 20% deal. I ordered on Monday morning and got the order Wed. Their warehouse is only 25 miles from me in the Riverside area. Big Als does have good prices also and more specialty items than Petco.

http://www.bigalsonline.com has the best prices. Not the best service just the best prices.
http://www.drsfostersmith.com
http://www.thatpetplace.com/
http://petsolutions.com

I have ordered from all of them and been pretty happy.

Big al's doesn't list if an item is in stock on their web page and if they don't have it, they just don't send it. They don't bother to notify you that it is out of stock. Sometimes their packing job leaves a little bit to be desired as well. They do have the best prices.

I have had good luck with Drs Foster & Smith, and Big Als. I will say that shipping from Big Als usually takes an extra day or two for the stuff to get boxed. I have no plans to order anything again from Big Als unless it was super cheap or the only place to get something.

My favorite place so far is:

www.marinedepot.com

They specialize in saltwater, but they have tons of stuff that works for freshwater too.

I have been very happy with Drs Foster and Smith, good prices and quick on shipping. Big Als has been slow in their shipping, and because of that I have pretty much stayed with the Drs.

i've ordered from bigals a few times, but its taken anywhere from 7 days to 12 days to get to my house (i live in socal). for the 6 dollars or so that they charge in shipping i expect it to get here a bit quicker than that.

i've ordered stuff from maine and had it get here quicker than bigals.
