Wet paper towels in a bag filled with air. Maybe a little bit of dead leaves or algae so they can snack on the way.

I had my MTS shipped in this way:

Regular fish bag fill 1/2 way with water and a small amount of filter floss for them to hang on to. All arrived live and well.

Fish_4_all's suggestion would work just fine as well.

My mystery snails were shipped w/out water and they arrived just fine. They were wrapped in damp paper towels, which was then wrapped with damp newspaper, which was then placed inside a cushioned bag (the sort of stuff pc parts are wrapped in). They were shipped priority mail and I had no losses (out of 15 snails). Since they are only in transit a short time I don't think a "snack" is needed - in fact, it might actually decay and wreck the water quality.
