Best way to trap Shrimp

I currently have a 125 gal and a 25 gal tank running...the 25 gal has only Red Cherry Shrimp in it and a ton of snails. I want to transfer all the RCS to the 125 gal without taking any snails with it (since chemicals that kill snails also kill RCS). Then once the 25 gal is snail-free, go back to a shrimp only tank. Any ideas for trapping shrimp? Right now I am using a 1L bottle with the top cut off and then inverted and re-inserted into the bottle with food inside as bait (limited success). Any other tricks I am missing? Thanks!

1. Remove all plants and decorations except the substrate.

2. Drain 15-20 gallons of water from the tank.

3. Get a large 8" net and scoop out what you can.

This process has worked for me numerous times. It it's heavily planted and you don't want to take out everything then I'd just hope to remove 90% of the shrimp on one day. Then, maybe a couple of weeks later when the shrimp are larger you can do this again. I wouldn't worry about the few that get left behind. The numbers aren't going to hurt the growth of your colony any.
