Betta and mirrors

I have a new betta and he has a real fighters personality. He even flares at me sometimes when I lean over to watch him. He flares and struts in front of a mirror but never attacks the glass.

My question is how often should I put up a mirror? I want to give him the thrill of defending his territory but I also don't want to stress him out but doing it too much. I've been doing it once a day for about 30 seconds.

Bettas don't "get a thrill" from defending their territory and a mirror isn't a necessity. It is great for taking pics, but otherwise is only for our enjoyment, not that of the fish.
