Will betta thrive well in brackish?

Depends. 1.005 is the max. Maybe 1.007 but I wouldn't try it.

The key word is WELL, and in my opinion no.

Betta splendens (the type most commonly available) is a freshwater fish so I doubt it could thrive in brackish conditions. It would probably survive, but that's never really the aim. Just out of curiosity why would it need to be in a brackish tank? Most typical brackish water fish wouldn't really be suitable tankmates for a betta anyway -- just my two cents.
