More info would help. Stressed how? How is he acting? Is he eating? What size tank is he in? Any tank mates? Have you tested your water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)?

Tested everything great and I just did a water change but I've been gone for a day an the light was off till I got back today

If you can post actual test result numbers that would help. 
Also how is he acting? Why do you think he's stressed? Is he alone in the tank? What size tank? What temperature is the heater set to?

he is alone in a 8g the temp is 80f and 27c amonia is 0 and so are the trates

I got the betta last week monday and I used filter cartridges from a seeded filter but he wasn't as stressed until this weekend
