If I put a female into a tank with other fish will it kill them

It might. Some females are very aggressive. My Thai imports are super aggressive. What other fish are in your tank? ANything with longer fins or bright colors can set a betta off. So best not to mix with guppies etc.

Ok then I would not chance that at all with any betta. Some people might tell you otherwise but you would be taking a risk. So if you do it stick close to your tank to watch for aggression.
