Black Ghost Knife???

another question about ghost knives!

i bought a 125 gallon tank and FINALLY think i will get a black ghost knife! how fast do these guys grow? the LFS said it could take a YEAR to grow just a few inches, but i think it was christmas fish that said that hers had grown 3 inches in one month! any input? i know not to put him with any small schools; i wonder if tiger barbs will be small enough for him to eat up... i DEFINITELY want some pictus cats though--- i LOVE THEM!

My black ghost as grown from 4 inches to 7(well 7cm to 15cm). He was more than a handful during his harrowing experience today.
He was bought about 30 days ago. I expect by this time next year he will have well reached his expected adult length of 20"

As far as faster than expected..
My polypterus just hit 8 inches from a wee 3. Being newer, his growth was noticed first. My 2 & 3 inch clowns that I barely finished Qt and adding with the BGK, the largest has already caught up with him.
Guess there is somethin in the water.....
