Been looking at acouple local stores for Astyanax fasciatus mexicanus (blind cave tetra) Petco used to carry them quite often but haven't seen them for a while. I checked a couple of the online places i know but no luck.
Any suggestions?

They're ALWAYS at my LFS (Big Al's). Maybe you should call your LFS(s) and ask them when they'll have them in stock.

ya LFS, doesn't carry them, and it's a pain to get someone to order fish when you only want a couple. Haven't seen them at Petco for about 2 years.
My choices to buy Fish arePetco or a high end specialty shop and a couple shops where the workers don't speak english and have dirty tanks.

I don't know if this will help, but see if there is a local Aquarium Society. You never know what local breeders may be around, or if they do larger orders as a club from retailers.
