Bloodworm - Help Me - Please?

Hello,
I am going to feed my fish their 1st bloodworm this week.
How?

Thaw it out and drain off the extra water. Depending on the size of your tank you will have to adjust the size of feeding I cut mine in half and feed.

So, should i literally just drop it in whole, or in half or some people say they shave bits off and then drop it in the tank,

once you've thawed it out - what is it like?
Is it squidgey or is it like a wormy wriggly consistancy?

I thaw it out and they fall apart. I have several tanks but only feed a couple blood worms the others get things like mysis or brine shrimp.
