I have never had a brackish tank so I guess I would go with Freshwater. From what I have seen on brackish fish, the only ones I have liked are Puffers.

I have a green spotted puffer that started out in FW, transitioned him/her through BW, and now resides in a 50 gallon SW buy him/herself.So I voted Brackish even though I no longer have brackish but I may set up my spare 20long for a F8 puffer if I can find room for the tank

Definitely Freshwater. Not into fish like puffers, etc. Love my sharks and eels to death, as well as my Rams and loaches, lol.

There is more variety for freshwater. I have kept a bracish tank and enjoyed it, but many of the species should be converted to full sea water when they mature, and you can do a more full biotype with freshwater.

Green spotted puffers are awsome but you need a tank on the larger side and they should be by themselves.

I have also kept scats, moos and archers and enjoyed them all.

I have only FW, but do love puffers, am looking into some dwarf FW ones maybe, but need another (11th) tank and I truly have run out of room for now! I would also love to try my hand one day at SW, but have tons more research to do first.

I pick freshwater.. There are more fish (that I know of) that are freshwater than there are brackish and puffers are cute and everything but they can be a hassle. I know. I've tried..lol
