brackish water

OK I'm new to salt and don't know if this post belongs here or in FW but here goes. I am in the process of setting up a 30g brackish tank. I've done some reading but am confused as to salinity some ppl recomend 1.005 and some say 1.01.I know that full marine is around 1.02.What do you guys recommend.

I had the same issue when I was setting up my pufferfish tank. Brackish is much closer to freshwater then it is to salt.

if i remember correctly I believe you put one tablespoon of salt for every 5 or 10 gallons ( sorry can't remember, it was a long time ago). Also i used salt for freshwater tanks, you can get box at petsmart for about 5 bucks.

The actual amount of salt is very small and it shouldn't show up at all on the hydrometer.
