Brichardi bug!

I am busy thinking/planning a new aquarium setup .

And I have been bitten by the brichardi bug! What a fascinating, beautiful cichlid.

Now this is going to be a long process before I purchase any brichardi. I have to plan (tank size, hardware, substrate, tank mates, plants, etc.) and purchase.

Do you have any suggestions where I can read up on tank size considerations for Mbuna cichlids? How to plan tank mates and which to add first, second, etc?

Now, I think the largest tank I can accommodate is 50G.

The minimum tank I would use is a 20L (20 gal long)

A 40gal breeder tank would do as well as the 50gal. Same footprint just not as tall. Tall tanks are not really needed for cichlids.
If you could find the room a 75gal is perfect. The 55gal is one of the most common sizes.
I really enjoy my Brichardi. Very active and beautiful.

yeah and mine bred around 6 months after i got them. you cant have anything on the bottom so i got hatchets

I think it has all the information you were looking for but if its missing something then just post or PM and ask what your looking for.. Ive been doing research for quite a while now I am guessing I might have run across whatever you might be looking for.. krap101 has posted some good links for identifying Malawi fish.. I had run across the link before that but cant find it right now.. You have to register to look at more than a few of them but its free.. whats that link again I cant remember it?..LOL
