I remember asking this a couple years back, but it seems I can't really find the topic, and I can't remember what happened there, so I'm going to ask again. I was wondering about the viability of creating a self replicating colony of brine shrimp? I remember something about needing like a 2000 gallon tank for it to be possible, but I've read some guides that say you could do it with something smaller?

I don't have a whole lot of experience with this, but it seems to me that just buying eggs and hatching them when needed would be far cheaper, not to mention easier. That said, I too am very curious about what would be needed for something like that.

Well as for cheapness, once you have one of these things going, you need
#1 electricity for the air pump
#2 water for occasional changes
#3 light/heat (electricity)
#4 green water/yeast - I've read that if you balance correctly, you never have to feed them because the algae/green water will keep up with the population, but I think the bigger shrimp need like yeast or something.
