Bristle nose colour change

So i recently moved from the back shed back to the house. Since iv shifted i havnt seen my bristle nose so i went on a search and rescue mission XD. So after searching the tank still couldnt find him so i took every think out and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a brown and white striped bristle nose, my bristle nose is changing from black to light and dark brown stripes any ideas why.

after some reasearch i found out that they can to suit their habitat which makes me happy as hes a decent sized fella

I was going to say I've seen both my plecos and cory cats change color shades when moved into a lighter or darker substrate.
