Columnaris is a bacterial infection, and Syno's do have teeth, so I'd say it's possible that the Hoplo could develop a secondary infection if attacked by other fish. Stress also lowers the immune system, making infections easier to become established if the fish is injured. It would be best to quarantine the Hoplo, and treat w/antibiotics, then find it a new home.
