i have 6 zebra danos, 2 neon tetras, 1 skirt tetra 1 platy, and an algae eater, and i was wondering if it would be ok to put some barbs in there or maybe angelfish? What would your guys' advice be?

They can all mix in the appropriate tank size. :)

If this is in your 20g, I would increase the number of schooling fish you have now instead of introducing more species. I also would not suggest putting Angelfish in that tank.

Try to get a few more danios and a few more tetras.

I agree with JustOneMore. Your tetras really need the company of their own kind. Also, Angels are in the cichlid family and can be fairly agressive with smaller fish, especially if the pair up. Barbs can also be nippy. It makes the more peaceful fish unhappy. Some skirts are nippy too, especially when they are not part of a school.
