Can I add more?

I have a 20 gallon long planted tank with 5 zebra danios, one pearl gourami and a bunch of cherry shrimp (I think 8 ). The tank is soon to be heavily planted but right now I just have hornwort, 2 anubias nana dwarfs, 2 small java ferns and some java moss. I was thinking about adding a school of tiger barbs, but would that be too much bioload? Otherwise, what does everyone suggest to finish stocking?

A school of neons; tiger barbs will eat the shrimp.

IMO I would think 5 or 6 more barb type fish would be about as far as you might want to go.
Wait a bit and add another single fsh or two.
Although I don't know anything about shrimp, so i defer to someone with a bit more knowledge.

Maybe rummy nose tetras. The gourami will probably eat neons. Or you can try Serpae Tetras.

Yeah my gourami is fairly peaceful but he does snap at the danios sometimes during feeding and they're too fast to catch so I'd worry about neons. Luckily he couldn't care less about the shrimp.
