I'm planning on using my 55 g for a fiddler crab terrarium. I was wondering if I could use the protein skimmer in the water alongside a filter. I know protein skimmers don't work in freshwater, but would it work in brackish? Thanks!!

And is it economically sound? Like, is the cost if running it really worth what it'll clean?

From what I have found a skimmer would only work in higher end brackish water of 1.016 or higher, which is nearly marine water anyway.

Oh, so really I can't? Or can fiddler crabs function at that salinity?
