Can't find info on new fish freind
Hi all! I just got two new fish today for my 30gal. At the [acronym:27a8a79d14="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:27a8a79d14] they were labled as Badies Badies???? I'm pretty sure they are a type of cichlid but I cannot seem to find any info on them anywhere. As soon as I can get a good pic of these little guys I'll post it . They are a light greyish color, and have a light blue dorsal fin. Any ideas???

Hiya puffergirl,
Name...Badis Badis Family..NANDIDAE length....3.2inch Ideal Diet..Worms, crustaceans, insects, dried foods. Ideal water temp... 78-83 degrees. Badis badis, This is a peaceful fish of the middle to lower water layers, which does not quarrel with other members of it's own species even in a community tank. keep it in a tank with plenty of plants and put some rocks and roots for hiding places as this is a very shy fish. Identification... In the Adults the general colouration of the flanks is yellowish, brownish, or greenish; healthy males exhibit a mosaiclike pattern of yellow, red or black scales. A black streak runs from the mouth, across the eye, to the dorsal fin. The back is olive to dark blue and the underparts are greenish or blush. The fin colour vary and may be bluish, dark blue, or green. The dorsal fin may be marked with red or green stripes. Females are simular, but not as brightly coloured. Young individuals often have 6-10 dark transverse bars, but these usually disappear with age. This is a most peaceful member of an otherwise aggressive family.
