Carbon
I was reading in the may issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist about the use of carbon in the aquarium. basically the article talks about some of the pros like; chemical filtration and mechanical filtration and after a time biological filtration. as well as some of the cons like;pulling out nutrients you want if you have plants and the inability to know just when you carbon is past it effective date.
I personally have always use carbon in my filters, replacing it every few months, until this article i have never questioned that. what do you all think? |

I thought it was necessary until I read that it wasn't and took it out and discovered that it wasn't. Now I only use it to remove meds, and I occasionally put some in my ugf.
