Hi everyone

This has been on my mind for a while now, I need advice on how to change the substrate in a freshwater shrimp tank.
The substrate I currently have is a little spacey, and I'm concerned that the cherry shrimp offspring will venture through the gaps, which I have noticed them doing. I'm thinking of changing it for sand. Anyway, the main point is - I have over 100 shrimp, with countless babies - so it would be impossible to catch them all and transfer them in the way you would with fish. Is there a way I could switch my substrate while leaving the shrimp in there?
Thanks a lot

Without possible burying some probably not, but if you did a reall good rinse of the new substrate and then carefully emptied the shrimp tank and slowly added the new substrate in it could work but I don't see it happening without losing some. Sand would probably work best and you will really need to rinse it well
