Check out this knife fish

Was amazed when I saw this at a LFS by me, a seriously huge (I think anyway) knife fish. It was probably 15+ inches easy, so cool! What a giant leap from the little ones everyone buys at petco

They are seriously cool fish. To bad they grow over twice that size. I would love to have a tank that would allow me to keep one.

Looks like a Clown Knife, terribly small tank for it - lovely fish, but wouldn't want to put that into a community tank

Yea it could only barely turn in circles at the LFS, but I went back two days later and it was gone and it's an amazing LFS so I'm sure it wasn't there for very long at all. Do black ghost knife fish get as big as this one?

Yeah same but I'm fine with my BGK for now

BGK's don't get as big. Typically 12-16" is a common size for them.

Just got this guy on Saturday he's a centipede knife he won't get much bigger and can live in a a community tank .

The African Brown Knifes only get to 7-8" and would be ok in most community tanks. Only very small fish would run the risk of becoming a meal.

I have an african knife fish and love it. He is very shy and comes out only at night. He is in a 55 community tank.
