I have a tetra aqua safe bottle, got it from a neighbor with a 55 gallon tank. I smelled it and it smells very bad. Is it?

I know some conditioners like Prime have a foul odor, so it could be fine. But if I was worried, I would just buy a new bottle. Better safe than sorry.

See if there's some type of expiration date or manufacture date on it. Oh yeah, Prime will knock your socks off. Very rotten eggy smelling.....

Hello D...

The smell of this product is similar to that of slightly rotting eggs, not very pleasant. If there's no expiration date on it, then it should be fine. I prefer Seachem's "Prime" myself.
