Sorry if this question is a little redundant, I tried using the search function and search engines but couldn't find a direct answer.

I currently have a 26 gallon with 2 angels and 4 red eye tetras..would adding a couple of cherry barbs be a bad idea? I've heard that cherry barbs aren't as aggressive as tiger barbs so I was just curious.

Thanks :)

I think you'll be fine. My cherry barbs seem more concerned with each other than other fish, though my lone male has chased my female betta. (She broke that habit quickly, and I would think angels could too.) I've not read of male cherry barbs being fin nippers or anything, but it appears some are especially randy.

Keep in mind that cherry barbs prefer cooler water (around 72 degrees) and will be their most colorful at this temp, although, they do fine at warmer temps. I'm personally a fan of the gold barb myself
